Karen Mullen-Ehly Inc.
Karen Mullen is the former Director of Washoe County's Regional Parks & Open Space Department and currently is a consultant coordinating and developing partnerships, providing project management for the Tahoe Transportation Districts Lake Tahoe Bikeway Project and for local Reno-Tahoe Resorts. She also provides analysis of land & water rights for public agencies and private parties and writes grants for various agencies, non-profits and private groups.
Karen has been interviewed by National leadership on the success of partnerships which led her to examine why some partnerships succeed and others fail. She currently speaks at the local, state and federal levels on relationship building and the development of sustainable partnerships.
Karen currently serves on the Boards of the Nevada Land Conservancy and the Great Basin Institute.
She embraces the vision of making our community one of the best places to live, work and play. Her mission is to help position individuals and organizations to succeed in this changing world through relationship building, partnerships and a common vision.
Karen Graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in Renewable Natural Resource Management.
She began her professional career as a Ranger working for the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, and Nevada Division of State Parks. Eventually she moved back to Washoe County there she headed the Parks Planning, Design and Construction Division and was Director of the Department for 9 years before retiring.
Karen has provided the leadership and coordination of community groups, agencies and elected officials in the passage of legislation on park & recreation issues and the passage of several voter approved bond issues. |
